Caring for Synthetic Lace closures or lace frontal hairpieces:
Don't expose a synthetic lace closure or wig to heat in excess of 160 degrees Farenheit, which will damage the hairpiece fibers and cause them to frizz. This includes curling irons, hot rollers or blow dryers. In general, don't use products designed for human hair, unless the manufacturer's directions for your particular hairpiece indicate it's OK. Never brush any hairpiece when wet, don't support bleaches, colors or rinses, synthetic hair can't affort such processes.

Use hair care products specifically designed for synthetic hair and wash it after it's been worn 8 to 12 times. To wash your hairpiece, gently brush it with a wig brush first. Add one tablespoon of wig shampoo to a sink with cold water and immerse the hairpiece for one minute, agitating gently. Rinse in cold water thoroughly, and then blot it. Next, apply a conditioning spray 10 to 12 inches from the hairpiece and allow it to dry on a wig stand or other slender object like a can of hairspray.

Caring for Human Hair Lace Closures and Lace Frontals:
Although you can use regular shampoo and conditioning products on hairpieces made from human hair, it's a good idea to look for those formulated for chemically treated hair, which is gentler. Mix 1 to 2 ounces of shampoo in a bowl or basin filled with water, then submerge the hairpiece and soak for 5 minutes and rinse until all the shampoo is gone. Never use hot water which can strip color and always keep water flowing through the hair in a downward motion from base to ends. Try to avoid pushing the hairpiece up and down which may tangle strands. After gently squeezing out any excess water, spray the hairpiece with a leave-in hair conditioner/detangler. Wait and brush the lace closure frontal hairpiece until it's completely dry.

How to Use Women's Lace Closure Hair Extensions:
Women's Lace Closures tend to be removable and temporary. Clip-in hair extensions are great for adding volume and usually come attached to barrettes that match your hair color. Butterfly or jaw-clip styles are also available to add a large amount of hair in a hurry and simply clip on over your own hair which is pulled into a bun. Chignon-style hairpieces usually attach with clips and then you pull your own hair through the hairpiece which integrates your natural real hair with the hairpiece. If you have extensive hair loss, an alternative to a full wig is to use a lace closure or a lace frontals hairpiece with a Velcroed-in ponytail which is also tends to be as comfortable s as a full wig, while it is much less cost than buying a full wig.
